Teledyne Dalsa Linea ML

Leading Edge Multi Line CMOS
Delivering superb color plus near-infrared (NIR) fidelity for even the most demanding applications.
The Linea ML brings leading edge CMOS technology that is faster than ever, with affordable multiline architecture that enables the newest, most powerful inspection techniques including HDR, color and multispectral analysis, and multi-field imaging (single-pass bright/darkfield). With a native fiber optic interface for easy, low-cost long cabling, the Linea ML opens new horizons in inspection.
The Linea ML was thoughtfully designed to enable economical variations in functionality, like HDR, and multiple spectral bands—color, color plus mono, color plus NIR, and multi-field.

Linea Features
- Bilinear Color See things in a whole new light with Linea’s color option. Our bilinear color architecture maximizes color fidelity and image quality better than anything else at its price point, and still takes advantage of the incredible speed and throughput made possible with TurboDrive.
- TurboDrive™ Teledyne DALSA’s proprietary TurboDrive™ technology allows Linea GigE to deliver its full image quality at line rates up to 80 kHz—several times faster than competitors—with no changes to your GigE network
- Burst Mode Linea’s GigE models can take advantage of its high speed sensor by capturing and buffering high speed bursts faster than GigE allows.
- Cycling Mode Linea lets you change your settings every line and cycle through up to five different user-controlled configurations. That means for every line you can use a different light source, lighting angle, exposure time, gain, and more to get more information from a single pass with a single camera.
- HDR Imaging Linea lets you combine short and long exposures to see details in bright and dark areas at the same time.
- Multiple ROI Linea gives you Multiple Regions of Interest to let you reduce your data transfer and processing load — all of which not only help boost performance but also reduce your system cost.
Linea Applications
- Recycling sorting
- Postal sorting
- Railway, train, vehicle inspection
- Pharmaceutical labels and Print inspection
- Food inspection
- Material inspection
- Printed circuit board inspection
- Printing inspection
- Web inspection
- General machine vision and many more
TurboDrive
Break the GigE Limit
TurboDrive is a mode of operation used to push past the gigabit Ethernet speed ceiling, allowing a GigE Vision cameras to send pixel information at a rate in excess of 125 MB/s and speeding up line and frame rates beyond the nominal link capacity. How much more speed does TurboDrive deliver? The degree of improvement is dependent on the image itself, but is often double the standard throughput.
Image Quality
TurboDrive does not affect your images—the images transmitted to system memory are exactly the same as the images read from the camera sensor, bit for bit. There is no loss of image data and no compromise.
Requirements
TurboDrive does not require any hardware or software changes to your network or application. However it is only available on select Teledyne DALSA cameras and requires Teledyne DALSA’s free Sapera LT SDK (v8.0 minimum), which includes our GigE driver.

What is T2IR
Seeing is Believing
If your machine vision system shows you something, you’d like to be able to trust it. But the reality is that a lot can go wrong in a complex imaging system. If your system is a “black box”, how can you tell if your data is complete and correct—is it “the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth”? If something does go wrong, can you tell what, where, and more importantly why? Teledyne DALSA’s Trigger-to-Image Reliability framework can give you the answers. T2IR is a combination of hardware and software features that work together at a system level to help you improve the reliability of your inspection system. It controls and monitors the entire process from trigger through image capture and transfer to host memory and helps protect you from data loss.
T2IR Benefits
-
Makes system more predictable
-
Prevents many errors before they happen
-
Lets your system manage exceptions in controlled manner
-
Provides system debugging and tracing
-
Reduces downtime
-
Improves application response time
-
Increases robustness
Situations Where T2IR Helps
- Too many objects fall in front of the camera (over triggering)
- Need to troubleshoot a device
- Need to verify critical imaging events such as lost frames, lines, triggers etc.
- Need to build verification into applications as part of runtime operation
- Want applications to be portable across devices and platforms
- Want to tag images for traceability
- In overload conditions, want to skip some inspections but keep track of what was skipped
